Hola! It’s Nick again. Today was the long anticipated beach day on Isla Tortuga.
We started out the day taking a ferry over to the island at 9am, and got to the island at 11 AM. The water in the surrounding area was absolutely stunning, the bluest and best saltwater I’ve ever seen.

The first activity that we embarked on was snorkeling around the coral reef located a few hundred yards away from the island. The guides chummed the water, and fish of all different species were teeming through the water. While snorkeling, a Manta ray was spotted, octopus, and even a red starfish was found.
The next thing that we did was a banana boat ride, which was spectacular as you could not beat the view. Snorkeling had to of been my favorite part of the day though.
On the boat ride back to Puntarenas, the DJ played some great songs, where nearly everyone was dancing, and having a great time.
The Costa Rican sun is very unforgiving, as I can speak on the behalf of all the cadets on the trip, we all got a little sunburned today. All in all, it was yet another phenomenal day here in Central America.
