Day 4 in Bermuda didn’t quite start out like most of us had wanted it to. Strong winds and torrential downpour woke people up throughout the night and greeted us head on during our walk to breakfast.
Thankfully as we learned more about the reef system with our Coral Identification Lab this morning, the sky cleared and made way for a nice afternoon at BAMZ (Bermuda Aquarium, Museum, and Zoo). We took a behind the scenes tour and got to see how the animals get admitted to the facility and put into an exhibit for the public to see, or get rehabilitated and released back into the environment. We were also one of the first to see 5 lemurs that had just arrived at BAMZ and were yet to be placed on exhibit.
The day winded down as we returned to BIOS (Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences), and had a good dinner before we got together to watch the Super Bowl.
Bermuda has definitely been a cool experience so far and I look forward to see what else it has in store for us.
