Everyone woke up around 6:00 this morning as the routine of going to Violetta’s everyday continued. Heading to bed a little earlier last night, I was feeling rather energized to get the workday going.
Violetta prepared us a hearty serving of bananas with strawberries on top of waffles drenched in syrup. After this, the group and I met up with Eduardo to head out to Santa Maria de Jesus for the day.
When we arrived, we continued our work from yesterday which was to color the stairwell walls. As we spread the teal colored paint, 10:00 came and we took a quick break. Thankfully, Eduardo brought us a half loaf of banana bread that the other groups had raved about in the past. I devoured three whole pieces as it tasted delicious.
We then continued our painting until 11:30 rolled around. Leaving the site and heading back to Antigua, I was still feeling really good, especially because we were headed to lunch.
Violetta truly outdid herself with a plate of steak, rice, broccoli, and tortillas. We all then headed back to the hostel to get ready for Spanish.
Since my classmate, James, had no teacher for the day, he joined my teacher Marlon and I. Today, we went over the difference between the preterit and imperfect verbs. After a couple of exercises, everyone at the school went out to get some coffee. We came and went from the Maglia Café back to the school. To conclude the school day, a few classmates with their teachers and I played a vocabulary game.
Heading back to the hostel afterwards, everyone wanted to get Ramen for dinner so off we went. I personally love Ramen, so I was excited. Upon arriving, I ordered the Miso Ramen with extra noodles and then proceeded to scoff it down. Worn down from the day, we all returned to the hostel to complete some homework and get some rest for the next day. Personally, I am missing home quite a bit, but I am focusing on enjoying the little time I have left in Antigua!
