The cadets of Group B started early this morning with a 0530 wake up. In a change of pace from Group A, the cadets were treated to a briefing at Port Canaveral. The group was greeting by the CEO of the Port Authority and his staff. The brief included presentations from operations, environmental, and emergency management departments. The group was intrigued by the EM presentation and even received a few words from MMA’s own 1/C Joe Binda, a Port Canaveral EM intern this winter semester. The cadets gained knowledge of private sector emergency management, a field which is rapidly expanding.
Following the briefings at the port, Group B was shuffled off to the Kennedy Space Center. After receiving their tickets from the rates, the cadets were free to explore space. Group B enjoyed their adventures and the patriotic feelings emanated by the US space program.
After the long ride back to the compound, the cadets received their rations and were set on free time. Classes are set to begin tomorrow after the workday. The cadets attempted to topple the rates and faculty in the first night of volleyball. They failed… miserably.
Tomorrow work will begin, and the crews will pick up the torch from Group A. They have big shoes to fill.
